Residential EPC

It is now a legal requirement for all properties being sold or offered for rent to have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC). This is as a result of a directive initiated by the EU to improve the energy efficiency of buildings. From 1st October 2008 it will become mandatory for property being marketed for rent to have an EPC. Landlords must provide an EPC free of charge to prospective tenants at the earliest opportunity and must provide a copy of the EPC to the person who takes up the tenancy. Failure to do so may result in a fine of £200 or more. Property that was occupied prior to 1 October 2008 and which continues to be occupied after that date does not require an EPC.

DP Energy Assessors will take a short survey of your property by your instruction. The survey will take into account factors such as:

- Location
- Wall Construction and size of property
- Hot water and heating systems
- Insulation and Glazing

This information can be processed to produce an EPC certificate and available - for you to download within a short space of time. - Whilst surveying we can offer energy/cost saving advice. - We can also provide floor plan drawings whilst onsite.
