Commercial EPC
Under The European Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD), Commercial buildings will need to produce an EPC. All buildings constructed, sold or rented are affected with a few exceptions. The sometimes complex nature of commercial buildings demands that extra care is taken during inspection. The EPC assessment will be carried out by one of our trained Commercial Energy Assessors who have experience within the energy industry and will be able to advise on any aspects of the EPC and any recommendations made in the report. The EPC is created using cutting edge technology (SBEM) and lodged with a government approved accreditation body.
Buildings are categorised into levels:
Level 3:
Any building over 50m2 with a heating system less than 100kW and/or a cooling system less then 12kW,
Level 4 NDEPCs
Any newly built non-dwelling or any building with heating systems greater than 100 kW or a cooling system greater than 12 kW.
Level 5 NDEPC's
Buildings over 10,000 m2 or very complicated building structures which require DSM modelling software for the production of the NDEPC.
Failure to comply may result in a fine of 12.5% of the rateable value of the building with a default penalty of £750 where the formula cannot be applied.
DP Energy Assessors will be able to guide our clients through the compliance process
